The German Currents Los Angeles 2017 will have its opening night this Friday, October 13, 2017 at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre. They will be launching the weekend long event with Director Jakob Lass’ Film Tiger Girl, Lass will be there in person and will be part of the panel after the film.

This year’s Children’s Matinee Screening will be on Monday, October 16, 2017. Organizers will be hosting over 500 students from the Los Angeles County and Orange County area. The free screening allows the student to be part of the event and exposed to the German language as part of their day. They will also have the opportunity to listen and interact with filmmakers and organizers as part of the following panel.

 

 

German Currents is produced and presented by the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles and the American Cinematheque, with the support of German Films, Deutsche Welle (DW) and the Friends of Goethe, and in cooperation with the German Consulate General, the Austrian Consulate General and the Consulate General of Switzerland
